He was one of the stalwarts of the Corps, who performed a stellar role during the 1962 war when he was the OC Signal Section of 7 Infantry Brigade which bore the brunt of the Chinese attack. He authored his famous book "TWO WIVES" among many others where he described in detail the fall of Twang during the Indo China War - 1962 , and his escape with few Jawans if the brigade signal company on foot avoiding capture by the Chinese through the rugged terrain and thick Jungles for days together living on plants and roots, into Bhutan as a Captain.
